Before starting their own blog, many people think it’s just as easy as sitting down, banging out a few paragraphs on the old laptop, and posting content to their website.
As you may already know, there’s a lot more involved when it comes to starting and growing a blog than just writing new posts every now and then.
Not only do you have to spend a lot of time writing, but you’re also going to be editing, creating graphics, marketing your content on social media, growing your email list, interacting with a dedicated and loyal audience, trying to come up with products and services to sell, monetizing your blog, and so much more!
It’s really not as easy as some people might make it out to be – but that’s not no reason why you can’t get started and grow your own blog into something magnificent.
With this in mind, I wanted to share some of my best blogging resources that I’ve used over the years to develop my own blog, and because so many people have been asking me about the different tools and apps that I’m using.

After starting your first blog you’re definitely going to want it to have a nifty, eye-catching design.
For amazing themes that you can easily install so that your blog looks the way you want it to, I recommend checking out the variety of different options available from ThemeForest.
ThemeForest has tons of different themes to choose from, for quite reasonable prices I would say, and the customer support is amazing should you ever need any theme-related help. There is even a forum that you can browse if you’re looking for some general support or you just want to get a better idea of what the different themes offer.

Finding keywords to use for your blog posts can be a pretty tricky thing to do when you first start blogging, and even professional bloggers still run into trouble finding keywords.
I’m a huge fan of KWFinder, and i’ve been using this tool to find amazing keywords for my blog posts since I started blogging a few years ago.
The interface is really intuitive, and KWFinder itself is really easy to use when it comes to discovering new keywords and search phrases you can write about.
Not only can you use it for finding new keywords, but it also really helps with inspiration if you’re looking for blog post ideas and something to write about!

Tailwind is an amazing Pinterest scheduling tool and definitely one of the most popular tools that bloggers (myself included) are using for taking advantage of all that awesome Pinterest traffic.
The way it works is by allowing you to schedule your pins to get posted at certain times throughout the day, when you’re not available to post them, and this helps to keep a lot of eyeballs on your pins, which results in more traffic to your blog!
Tailwind also has their own nifty analytics integration so you can keep on eye on your best performing pins, see which boards you’re getting the most performance from, and you can really get your pinning to be super efficient. This tool really helps you to save time and makes it easier for you to get blog traffic, even as a beginner, as long as you’re posting high-quality pins.

Google Analytics is a free tool from Google that provides you with a huge amount of information about your blog regarding your site traffic, page links, and many other important metrics. It’s easy to setup and link with your blog, and I recommend doing it right when you get started so you can keep an eye on all of the different information that it provides for you.
Many brands and companies that you’ll want to work with in the future will likely want access to your analytics to see that your traffic stats are legit, so make sure to sign up and get Analytics up and running as soon as you can.
You might have noticed some of my Pinterest images kicking around as you’ve been checking out my blog posts. For these awesome looking images I tend to use Canva to edit the appearance so they’re not as boring and so that the regular stock images can be improved for better engagement on Pinterest, Facebook, and other social platforms.
Canva is really easy to use and there is a huge amount of the platform that’s completely free, so you can use it for your photos without having to spend any money (unless you want to upgrade to the Pro version for more features and options).
A lot of bloggers these days are using Canva, and I even see some brands and companies using it for their images as well, so I’d recommend heading over to Canva and giving it a try if you want to improve your images for Pinterest, social media, and for the rest of your blog!
